Hi, I’m Shanetta, a Somatic Life Coach and storyteller.
I’m also a former publicist and a woman who’s learning to lead with softness instead of survival.
As a publicist I spent over a decade helping others shape and share their stories working with global brands, authors, therapists, entrepreneurs, and creative changemakers to clarify their message and make it resonate.
But after years of pushing and performing while recovering from Complex-PTSD and an eating disorder behind closed doors, my body craved something different. So I listened. I’m now focused on coaching women in discovering their mind/body connection through somatic healing because your story can’t change if your body still believes the old one.
Today, I’ve helped hundreds of women explore what it means to trust your intuition, get clarity, reclaim your story, and come home to your body.

Credentials and Background Experience:
For nearly two decades, I’ve helped changemakers, creatives, and mission-driven global brands tell powerful stories as a publicist—shaping cultural conversations, sparking policy change, and creating market demand.
In addition to my work in PR and coaching, I’ve spent nearly a decade writing for major lifestyle publications, where I became known for elevating untold stories, especially those centering Black women, women’s health, culture, and motherhood.
My personal essays and reported features have appeared in Allure, InStyle, Essence, HuffPost, R29 Unbothered, Well+Good, and BDG Media. My writing, just like my coaching, is rooted in the belief that stories live in the body, and when we listen closely, we find the truth we’ve been seeking.
In 2020, I combined my love of wellness and storytelling to launch Motif, a digital community designed to help women of color heal through connection, conversations, and truth-telling. What began as a healing space grew into The Motif Podcast, which was named a top health and healing podcast by Vanity Fair. In 2025, the show relaunched as Your Body Knows, reflecting my deepening commitment to mind/body education, embodiment, and somatic healing for women of color.
I’m also a mother and an advocate for young girls, serving on the Advisory Board of Shero’s Rise, a non-profit that empowers girls from underserved communities to become agents of change.
I hold a Master’s in Communications and a Bachelor’s in Business Management and Marketing. I’m also currently completing a 211-hour Level 2 ICF-accredited Life Coach certification and I’ve trained in the renown Martha Beck Wayfinder Life Coach program.
After giving birth to my daughter, something shifted in me.
I’ve always believed that our life’s journey is remembering who we truly are.
I knew I wanted more for my life. More purpose, more alignment, more of me. Around that same time, I began working with a somatic experiencing practitioner after nearly a decade of trying to navigate and treat Complex-PTSD as well as an eating disorder.
For the first time, I felt grounded. I was present and in my body, and no longer living in my head.
Rediscovering my mind-body connection changed everything. And it was the aha moment that set me on a new path: to offer other women the same sense of reconnection, relief, and possibility that I had been given.
This work saved me and now I work to help other women save themselves.
